Strays Far

I am always looking for more challenging walks in Scotland. Strays far is my blog, video and associated web bits that describe several new treks in Scotland and ways to approach them.

Who am I

Inspiration

Strays Far

My name is Malcolm. I believe we spend too much time indoors and for me trekking is a way to counter this. I have gone camping since I was a kid but long distance walking has fascinated me as I have grown older.

Too many people have a bad experience camping in Scotland. The climate and terrain provide unique challenges which are easy to underestimate. So my goal is to help people achieve a better experience of trekking in Scotland. With good knowledge and correct technique it can be a wonderful experience.

Mildred Lisette Norman was the first woman to complete the Appalachian trail. She became known as ‘The Peace Pilgrim’ when, in 1953, she left her home to walk across America to raise awareness of the need for disarmament and the cessation of war. She continued walking until her death in 1981.
